Hot Rod Girl — Watch the Full Movie Here

Thanks to our unlimited production budget here at Mac’s Motor City Garage, we are able to offer you this full-length Hollywood feature. (Just kidding. The owners neglected to renew the rights and now the film is in the public domain.) Anyway, Hot Rod Girl is a genuine teen exploitation classic from 1956. It’s got chisel-jawed Chuck Connors from The Rifleman, B-movie godess Lori Nelson, star of such cinema milestones as Untamed Youth and Return of the Creature, and Frank Gorshin, the creator of ridiculously memorable characters for Batman and Star Trek.

The movie also has an awesome musical score by Alexander Courage with blazing horns and greasy saxophones, and frankly, our reason for being here: lots of classic Southern California hot rods. Many of them were captured in action at the original San Fernando drag strip north of Los Angeles, where the opening scene was filmed.

We should also state right now that the movie poster (above) and promotional materials for Hot Rod Girl are also Hollywood classics—classics of false advertising. The movie is nothing like the salacious poster painting. Instead, it’s a sober drama about the dangers of street racing. It’s still a lot of fun. Enjoy the movie.
