+   Legendary British racing driver Sir Stirling Moss, winner of classic races including the Mille Miglia and the Monaco Grand Prix, has passed away at 90 after a prolonged illness. More at Road & Track. 

+  Subaru joined the lengthy list of car manufacturers in the USA to furlough production workers, affecting as many as 5,300 people at its Lafayette, Indiana plant. More at CNET Roadshow. 

 Maserati’s M20C sport coupe, now due for a September rollout, will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 with more than 600 hp, soon to be joined by a hybrid variant. More at Car and Driver.  

 Penske Racing’s Simon Pagenaud won the  IndyCar iRacing Challenge at virtual Michigan International Speedway, while NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished third. More at Racer. 

+   Under a restructuring plan due out next month, Nissan could reduce its annual sales target by up to one million cars in an effort to slash costs and increase profitability. More at Reuters. 

 Michigan auto dealerships will be allowed to close online sales during the COVID-19 pandemic following a revised executive order from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. More at The Detroit News.

+   Porsche has arranged with RM Sotheby’s to auction the last 991-series 911 to be produced, with the proceeds going to the United Way’s coronavirus response fund. More at Automobile. 

+   Tesla has reportedly  furloughed approximately half of its sales and delivery employees across the United States, while cutting pay for essential salaried workers. More at CNBC. 

 Production of the convertible version of the 2020 mid-engine Corvette has been held up by shutdowns caused by the coronavirus outbreak, and may not begin until MY 2021. More at The Drive. 

+   Alfa Romeo chief Fred Vasseur warns that an abbreviated, concentrated Formula schedule crammed into the end of the year could escalate costs for smaller teams. More at Motorsport.com.
