Today’s headlines: 

 The United Auto Workers scored a historic victory at the Volkswagen assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee as 73 percent of the hourly workers voted to accept the union. More at CNN.

 Tesla is recalling 3,878 Cybertrucks to repair an accelerator pedal pad that could come loose and get lodged in the interior trim, potentially causing sudden unintended acceleration. More at Reuters. 

 Ford executive chairman Bill Ford Jr. announced that the rebuilt Michigan Central Station, set to reopen on June 6, will include a Google training center in coding and other skills. More at The Detroit News. 

 Drafting together at the NASCAR Cup race in Talladega, four factory-backed Toyotas were taken out of the event in a single high-speed crash, but none of the drivers were injured. More at Road & Track. 

+   Shelby American unveiled the 2024 Super Snake based on the S650 Mustang platform, offered with 480 hp or 830 hp and total production limited to 250 vehicles. More at Car and Driver.

 Sales of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s first EV have been 3-5 times higher than expected, CEO Lei Jun announced, with the company delivering cars ahead of schedule. More at Autoblog.

  1. Bill Ford said he is hoping to create a technology corridor between the Michigan Central station and Ann Arbor. What a plus that would be for the area.
