  Discovery-owned TEN Publishing will close down 19 of its 22 automotive magazines, leaving MotorTrendHot Rod, and Four Wheeler as the only titles in print. More at Folio. 

 The United Auto Workers union has sent its tentative labor contract with Fiat Automobiles to its rank-and-file members, who are expected to ratify the deal. More at The Detroit News. 

 China’s Dongfeng Motor is expected to reduce its 12.2 percent equity stake in PSA Group to aid in securing U.S. government approval for the PSA-FCA merger. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso insists he will return to the Indianapolis 500 in 2020, most likely for McLaren or Andretti, and will not rule out a return to Formula 1 in 2021. More at Racer. 

 Ford is asking its dealers not to advertise the new Mustang Mach-E electric crossover, which is due to hit showrooms next year, at less than the sticker price. More at Autoblog. 

 Tighter climate regulations by 2025 could erase up to $2.3 trillion in equity for fossil fuel producers, agriculture, car makers, and other industries, says one investor group. More at Reuters. 

+   Nissan will close down its U.S. operations on January 2 and 3 and send its workers home without pay for the two days as part of the company’s belt-tightening measures. More at Motor1.com. 

+   Gooding & Company will host its first collector car auction outside the USA with the special sale of a private collection in London on April 1, 2020. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.

+   A Tesla Model 3 driver reported that the Autopilot was engaged and he was checking on his dog in the back seat when the vehicle struck a state police cruiser. More at The Drive. 

 Justin Bonnett, grandson of NASCAR legend Neil Bonnett, was seriously injured in a crash and fire in the Snowflake 100 late model race in Pensacola, Florida. More at NBC Sports.

  1. It’s a shame all those car magazines are disappearing. I grew up with them but to be honest it has been years since I bought a copy.

  2. If Alonso returns with McLaren I hope they have a better plan than last year. What a disaster.
