 Attendance at the Geneva Motor Show declined sharply as vehicle manufacturers and suppliers cut their staffing to a minimum in response to the coronovirus outbreak. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced it will cut the third shift at its Windsor Assembly Plant this summer as it phases out production of the Dodge Grand Caravan. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Volkswagen has unveiled its 2021 GTI sedan, offering an upgraded 2.0-liter turbocharged four and a lengthy list of performance, convenience, and appearance features. More at Autoblog. 

+   Formula 1 legend Fernando Alonso will again attempt to achieve auto racing’s triple crown with a return to the Indianapolis 500 in May with the Arrow McLaren SP team. More at ESPN. 

+   The Bel Air, California mansion of former Ford and Chrysler executive Lee Iacocca, who passed away last July at 94, is now listed for sale at $26 million. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 Clive Cussler, an enthusiastic collector of classic cars and the author of best-selling adventure novels featuring bigger-than-life hero Dirk Pitt, has passed away at 88.  More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   The last Chevrolet Impala rolled off the line at the General Motors plant in Hamtramck, Michigan this week as the facility retools for electric vehicle production. More at Click On Detroit. 

 Russo and Steele has canceled this year’s collector car auction at Amelia Island, Florida, but the company intends to regroup and return to the venue in 2021. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 Driver Chase Elliott has entered the NASCAR Truck Series race at Atlanta to attempt to collect the $100,000 bounty placed on Kyle Busch by Gander Outdoors and Kevin Harvick. More at Autoweek. 

+   The Governors Highway Safety Association determined there were 6590 pedestrian deaths in 2019, a 5 percent increase over 2018 and the greatest number in 30 years. More at Car and Driver.
