+   After struggling with COVID-related issues in the previous month, the Tesla plant in Shanghai, China delivered 78,906 vehicles in June, a record volume for the facility. More at Reuters.

 Republican North Carolina State Representative Ben Moss has introduced a bill that would ban free public EV chargers unless free gasoline and diesel fuel are also offered. More at The Drive. 

 Mazda is preparing a Skyactiv D 3.3-liter turbo-diesel inline six with 251 hp that will be coupled to a 48-volt mild hybrid system and offered in the 2023 CX-60 crossover. More at Autoweek. 

+   Ford reports it sold 120,000 vehicles in China in the second quarter, a 22 percent decline over last year and the company’s worst quarter there since the pandemic began. More at CNBC. 

 Dave Alpern, president of Joe Gibbs Racing, confirmed that the team fully intends to have driver Kyle Busch continue in the No. 18 Toyota for the 2023 Cup Series season. More at Jayski.

 A Cadillac dealer in Novi, Michigan just outside Detroit has receieved the first 2023 Cadillac Lyriq electric crossover along with the strict instructions, “Don’t touch it.” More at the Detroit Free Press.
