+   Rivian has delayed deliveries of its R1T electric pickup and R1S SUV several more months into September 2021, citing cascade effects of the global microchip shortage. More at TechCrunch. 

 Ford announced it is recalling around 775,000 Explorer SUVs from the 2013-2017 model years to correct a defective rear suspension link that could cause a loss of control. More at Reuters. 

+   Lordstown Motors confirmed that federal prosecutors in Manhattan are investigating the electric-truck startup’s vehicle pre-orders and merger with DiamondPeak Holdings. More at The Detroit News.

+   Helmut Marko of Red Bull called for the suspension of Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton after Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and Hamilton collided in the British Grand Prix. More at Planet F1. 

 A massive fire in a warehouse in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico destroyed an unknown number of Can-Am offroad vehicles, but according to local reports, no workers were injured. More at The Drive. 

+   According to a new California policy, vehicles with software calibrations not provided by the manufacturer or approved by the state will fail their mandatory smog checks. More at Motor Trend. 

 Hyundai will operate a RoboShuttle service in Sejong Smart City in South Korea starting in August, operating converted H350 passenger vans along a 6.1-kilometer route. More at Autoweek. 

+   RM Sotheby’s has added a third day to its annual Monterey auction in August to offer 26 cars from the collection of the late Paul Andrews, noted Fort Worth, Texas enthusiast. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+   Tesla owners can now access the company’s Full Self Driving option, which was previously offered only as a $10,000 option, as a subscription for $199 per month. More at CNBC. 

 At New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Driver Kyle Busch blasted NASCAR officials for allowing the race to start on a wet race track, which he charged led to his early wreck. More at NBC Sports.
