+   Stellantis reported a record $12.1 billion net profit, up 37 percent year-over-year for the first six months, propelled by a best-ever $109 billion in revenue, a 12 percent improvement. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Automakers BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, and Stellantis say they will join forces to build an EV charging network with 30,000 kiosks in the USA and Canada. More at CBS News. 

 Ford Motor raised its annual pre-tax profit projections as improving supply chains helped the automaker produce more pickup trucks, SUVs, and crossovers to meet sustained demand. More at Reuters. 

+   Veteran IndyCar driver Katherine Legge has signed a deal to run four road-course events in the NASCAR Xfinity series for Bobby Dotter’s SS GreenLight Racing team. More at Autoweek. 

+   McPherson College, a liberal-arts school in Kansas that features one of the nation’s leading car-restoration education programs, received $1 billion in pledges from an anonymous donor. More at Salina Journal. 

 A collector’s hoard of 55 Firebird Trans-Ams from the ’70s and ’80s, including tools and shop equipment, will be offered by VanDerBrink Auctions in Waverly, Iowa on August 4-5. More at Old Cars.
