 Global petroleum giant Exxon Mobil plans to announce the launch the production of lithium for electric vehicle batteries at a facility in Arkansas in 2026, sources have indicated. More at Reuters.  

+   Honda has joined Toyota in raising the wages of hourly workers at its plants in the USA in reponse to the pay raises won by the United Auto Workers at  the Detroit three plants. More at The Detroit News. 

 Rivian will now offer its battery-electric vans, previously available only to Amazon, to other commercial fleet customers around the world, with prices starting at $83,000. More at Car and Driver. 

 As the IndyCar silly season continues, A.J. Foyt Racing, Andretti Global, Dale Coyne Racing, and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing have yet to secure their driver lineups for 2024. More at  Racer.  

+   Storied British sports car maker Morgan has contracted with Pininfarina to design a coachbuilt two-seat roadster to be produced in limited numbers as early as late next year. More at Autocar. 

 Ford has revived the Mustang California Special for 2024 as an appearance package available on the Mustang GT coupe and convertible in Premium trim for an extra $1995. More at AutoGuide. 

 Swedish truckmaker Volvo anounced it won an auction for the battery business of troubled Proterra in the United States, currently in Chaper 11, with a $210 million bid. More at World Auto Forum.

 The RM Sotheby’s Las Vegas Grand Prix sale will feature a number of high-end exotics, including a 1990 Ferrar F40 GT and a 1984 Lamborghini Countach 5000S. More at Autoblog. 

 Grattan Raceway, a scenic two-mile road circuit in operation since the early ’60s in rural Michigan around 25 miles northeast of Grand Rapids, is for sale at an undisclosed price. More at The Drive. 

+   NASCAR veteran Kevin Harvick, who officially retired from Cup competition at  the end of the 2023 season, says he won’t rule out appearances in the Xfinity or Truck series. More at Jayski.
