 EV sales are expected to hit a record 9 percent market share in the USA this year, according to Atlas Public Policy, but the numbers still lag behind China, Germany, and Norway. More at The Detroit News. 

  CEO Carlos Tavares says Stellantis will lift the 2030 revenue target for its “circular economy” recycling unit after its revenue grew 25 percent so far this year, adding, “the growth is strong.” More at Reuters. 

 Official details of Tesla’s upcoming Cybertruck have been revealed on a display at a San Diego Tesla store, including a max payload of 2,500 lbs and 11,000-lb towing capacity. More at Motor Trend. 

+   Mercedes Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has denied a claim by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner that Hamilton approached Red Bull about driving for the team. More at BBC Sport. 

 When a TikTok user’s Kia Sorento SUV was totally destroyed in a fire but her Stanley thermal drink mug survived, the sporting goods maker replaced both the mug and the vehicle. More at Autoblog. 

+   Volkswagen has joined Nissan, Hyundai, Honda, and Toyota in raising wages at its U.S. plants in response to the pay hikes won by the United Auto Workers at the Detroit three. More at Motor Illustrated. 

 Ford is scaling back plans for its EV battery plant in Marshall, Michigan by more than $1 billion and 800 jobs as the automaker has so far failed to penetrate the market as hoped. More at the Detroit Free Press.

 Following a crash late last year by  Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, one of the show’s three most recent hosts, the BBC has now  canceled the production of Top Gear indefinitely. More at Car and  Driver. 

 +   TC Customs in Alabama is offering the 2024 Ford F-150 Sleeper, a base-model V8 pickup equipped with a 700+ hp Roush Performance TVS supercharger package, for $46,999. More at The Drive.  

 Michael Andretti’s Andretti Global confirmed that it will downsize its IndyCar effort for 2024 from four cars to three for drivers Colton Herta, Kyle Kirkwood, and Marcus Ericsson. More at Motorsport Week.

  1. ‘Top Gear’ was the Mac’s Motor City Garage of TV shows… Once the original 3 presenters left it was never the same. Totally off the wall, original and irreverent. One of the best things ever and impossible to duplicate.
