 Cruise, the autonomous vehicle subsidiary of General Motors, has set a goal for a fleet of at least one million self-driving vehicles by 2030, says Cruise CEO Dan Amman. More at CNBC.

 The first vehicles from Tesla’s new Berlin, Germany factory should roll off the line as early as next month, says CEO Elon Musk, with production targeted at 10,000 units per week. More at Reuters. 

+   Chevrolet will formally introduce the 2023 Corvette C8 Z06, which is reportedly powered by a 5.5-liter flat-crank V8 with more than 600 hp, at noon on October 26. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Rick Ware Racing will shift its NASCAR operation from Chevrolet to Ford next season, forming a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing and Roush-Yates Engines. More at CBS Sports. 

 Workers at a ZF axle plant in Marysville, Michigan north of Detroit have won union representation with the United Auto Workers after a strike that lasted more than a week. More at The Detroit News. 

 Gordon Murray Automotive plans to offer a cheaper, smaller, and less powerful variant of the T.50 hypercar now called “Project Two” and to be badged as the T.33. More at Motor Trend. 

+   Toyota has laid claim to the Guinness record for the longest distance traveled by a fuel-cell vehicle without refueling, completing an 845-mile trip around Southern California. More at CNET Roadshow. 

+   The one-of-one 1948 Tucker convertible, which is clamed to be a factory prototype but is regarded by some as not an authentic Tucker product, is for sale for $2.4 million. More at ClassicCars.com Journal. 

+   Fender and Lexus have partnered to produce a limited run of 100 Fender Stratocaster electric guitars painted in Lexus Structural Blue and priced at $6500 each. More at The Drive.

+   Roush Fenway Racing has swapped the crew chief and road crews of its two NASCAR Cup teams, the no. 6 of driver Ryan Newman and the no. 17 of Chris Buescher. More at Motorsport Week.

  1. Don’t know if the Tucker is a real prototype or not, but it is well done whatever it is. It shows the car would have looked good as a two door or convertible. Too bad we’ll never know…..
