Today’s headlines:

 The Canadian labor union Unifor announced that its members have voted to approve a new contract with General Motors, with 80.5 percent of the workers approving the deal. More at Reuters. 

 According to a poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, more Americans support the workers than the companies in the current work stoppage. More at The Detroit News. 

 Ferrari will now accept cryptocurrency for vehicle purchases in the United States, working with crypto payment processor BitPay, and it expects to extend the policy to Europe. More at Engadget. 

 The Belgian Grand Prix on the historic Spa-Francorchamps circuit will remain on the Formula 1 calendar through 2024, with officials signing a one-year contract extension. More at Crash.net. 

+   Volkswagen Group deliveries rose 7.4 percent in the third quarter as strong demand in Europe and North America offset a decline in top market China, the German carmaker reported. More at World Auto Forum.

 Shares of EV charging network operator ChargePoint Holdings closed sharply lower last week after the company announced it plans to raise $232 million in new funding via stock sales. More at CNBC. 

+   Ford has issued temporary layoffs to around 700 third-shift workers who build the F-150 Lightning in Dearborn, which the company says is unrelated to the current labor strike. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 After the failure of its MX-30 electric crossover in the U.S. market, attributable to its uncompetitive range rating, Mazda expect to return to the USA with EVs as earlly as 2025. More at  The Drive. 

+   Porsche has teamed with Austrian boatbuilder Frauscher to offer the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, an electric pleasure boat that shares its powertrain with the Macan SUV. More at Autoblog. 

 NASCAR and the city of Chicago have not “signed an agreement yet” for a second Chicago street race in 2024, according to Leigh Giangreco of Crain’s Chicago Business. More at Jayski.
