 Ford announced that the electric F-150 due in mid-2022, which it says will be the quickest pickup in the lineup, will be manufactured at the Rouge complex in Dearborn. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Mitsubishi has released a silhouette teaser image of the facelifted and updated 2022 Eclipse Cross, its entry-level crossover set to arrive in showrooms in the first quarter of 2021. More at Autoblog.

 General Motors has informed its 880 Cadillac dealers that each will be required to invest $200,000 to equip their facilities for the electric models arriving in 2022. More at The Detroit News.  

 Four-time Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais will join AJ Foyt Racing to drive in the final three races in the 2020 IndyCar season and the entire schedule in 2021. More at NBC Sports. 

 Sources say Volkswagen Group plans to offload its ultra-premium Bugatti division to Croatian electromobility powerhouse Rimac Automobili in exchange for a larger stake in Rimac. More at Car. 

+   The French government will study options to prevent the closure of a Bridgestone tire plant in Bethune France by its Japanese owner, said finance minister Bruno Le Maire. More at Reuters.  

 A 26 year-old driver was arrested in Detroit after jumping his Dodge Stratus over the partially open Fort Street drawbridge, blowing out all four tires in a crash landing. More at The Drive. 

+   The Artcurial Motorcars auction of the 170-lot Andre Trigano collection near Toulouse, France boasted $4.7 million in sales and a sell-through rate of 100 percent. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+   Christopher Ellis, the mechanic known as “Kentucky” on Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws reality TV program, is dead at the age of 39 from an apparent heroin overdose. More at People. 

+   Kansas Speedway will admit a limited number of live spectators to its NASCAR Cup race on October 18, restricting the 48,000-seat facility to approximately 10,000 fans. More at Jayski.
