 General Motors and Cruise, its autonomous vehicle subsidiary, are suing the Ford Motor Company over its use of the name BlueCruise for its driver-assistance technology. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Electric truck manufacturer Rivian announced it has closed a $2.5 billion fundraising round led by its investors including Amazon, Ford Motor Company, and T. Rowe Price. More at Reuters. 

+   Subaru has announced pricing information for its BRZ sports car due in showrooms this fall, including a an entry-level model with a six-speed manual gearbox for $28,955. More at Autoblog. 

 Mercedes Formula 1 team principal Toto Wolff says he has a responsibility to help driver Valtteri Bottas find a seat for 2022 if he opts to replace him with George Russell. More at Racer. 

 Stellantis has secured an additional $14 billion revolving credit line from 29 banks as the automaker maneuvers to weather the ongoing global microchip shortage. More at The Detroit Free Press. 

+   A second recall notice has been issued for around 69,000 2017-19 Chevy Volt electric vehicles to replace defective battery modules that present a serious fire hazard. More at CNBC. 

 The Little Car Company of Great Britain is offering an officially licensed 1957 Ferrari Testa Rosa in 3/4 size for children with an electric drivetrain and a top speed of 37 mph. More at The Drive. 

 RM Sotheby’s has announced a Boutique collector car auction to be held in September in St. Moritz, Switzerland during the Bernina Gran Turismo vintage racing week. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 Tesla CEO Elon Musk says the controversial yoke-type steering wheel recently introduced on the Models S and X is the only choice and no alternative will be offered. More at Electrek. 

 NASCAR issued a collection of fines and suspensions to team executives at Hendrick Motorsports for switching engines between the team’s no. 9 and no. 48 cars. More at USA Today.
