 Federal prosecutors have charged a Fiat Chrysler salesman in Southeast Michigan with helping to orchestrate a wire fraud conspiracy that cost the automaker $8.7 million. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Ford’s new electric version of the F-150 pickup will be called the Lightning, a name first used by the automaker on its gasoline-powered V8 performance trucks in the ’90s. More at Car and Driver.  

 Hyundai’s premium Genesis brand has announced the pricing for the 2022 Genesis G70,with stickers ranging from $38,750 to $55,545 for the BMW 3-Series challenger. More at Autoblog. 

+   Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko said “something has to change” with Formula 1’s track limits rule after Max Verstappen was denied a fastest lap award in the Portuguese Grand Prix. More at Motorsport.com. 

+   Tesla CEO Elon Musk has added six more months to the start of production at its delayed factory near Berlin, its first gigafactory in Europe, Automobilwoche reported. More at Reuters. 

 General Motors chairwoman and CEO Mary Barra took home more than $23 million in total compensation for 2020, $2 million more than in 2019, the company reported. More at the Detroit Free Press.

 The one-of-its-kind Rolls-Royce Phantom Oribe, created in partnership with Hermès, uses details inspired by the owner’s collection of ancient Japanese ceramics. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+   Monterey Car Week, cancelled last year due to COVID-19, appears to be back on for 2021 with one event, the The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, set for August 13. More at The Drive. 

+   Williams Advanced Engineering and Italdesign are collaborating on a modular electric platform suitable for a wide variety of high-end vehicles, the companies reported. More at Autoweek.  

 Atlanta Motor Speedway is opening its grandstands to full spectator capacity for its  July 10-11 NASCAR weekend, which will feature both Cup and Xfinity series events. More at Jayski.
