+   Stellantis has appointed current North American chief operating officer Antonio Filosa, a 25-year veteran, to be the new chief executive officer of the global automaker. More at CNBC. 

 General Motors announced plans to invest $888 million in its Tonawanda, New York engine complex near Buffalo to build next-generation V8s to power its pickups and SUVs. More at Car and Driver. 

 The $17,900 Nissan Versa S, the last production car on the U.S. market with a five-speed manual transmission, will be discontinued due to the import tariff on goods from Mexico. More at The Drive. 

 Upon failing postrace inspection at the Indy 500, the no. 90 Prema Motorsports and the no. 27 and no. 28 of Andretti Global were moved to the rear of the field in the final results. More at Racer. 

 Toyota announced it intends to have seven electric Toyota and Lexus models on sale in U.S. dealerships by mid-1927, including two vehicles that will be manufactured in the USA. More The Detroit News. 

+   Government authorities in Brazil filed suit against BYD, accusing the Chinese EV manufacturer of slavery-like work conditions and human trafficking at its factory construction site. More at Autoblog. 

 Ford is recalling more than one million vehicles in the USA to correct a software defect that can cause the the rearview camera to delay or freeze up, creating a safety hazard. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   Volvo Cars will cut 3,000 mostly white-collar jobs as part of a restructuring announced last month as it grapples with high costs, slowing EV demand, and import tariffs. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   Top sales at the Worldwide Auctioneers Auburn spring sale included a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K at $852,000 and a 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage that brought $307,000. More at Old Cars. 

 Rockingham Speedway, the historic venue around 90 miles west of Charlotte that recently hosted its first NASCAR Xfinity and Truck series races in years, is now listed for sale. More at NBC Sports.
