+   BMW CEO Oliver Zipse says the automaker is prepared to comply with any ban on internal combustion engine cars from 2030 on, in the European Union and elsewhere. More at Reuters. 

+   In the American University Kogod Business School annual Made in America Index, the Ford Mustang led again in domestic content, followed by the Chevy Corvette and Tesla 3. More at Autoblog. 

 Preliminary tests by the Michigan State Police found that the Ford EcoBoost Police Interceptor is the fastest patrol car on the market with a 0-60 mph time of 5.5 seconds. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Tony Stewart is forming a two-car NHRA nitro drag racing team for 2022 that will field a Top Fuel dragster for his fiance Leah Pruett and a Funny Car for veteran Matt Hagan. More at CBS Sports. 

+   General Motors is extending its production halt of the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV by two weeks as it continues to develop a recall to correct potential battery fires. More at The Detroit News. 

 New car prices in the USA continue to soar, as the average transaction price hit a record high of $45,031 in September, according to data complied by Kelly Blue Book. More at The Drive. 

+   The Tesla 3 and Y took second and third place in electric vehicle sales in China in the first three quarters of 2021, with the tiny Hongguang Mini microcar taking the top spot. More at CNBC. 

+   Dominated by American classic and vintage cars, RM Sotheby’s annual Hershey auction achieved nearly $13 million in sales with a 98 percent sell-through rate. More at ClassicCars.com Journal.

 Honda has unveiled ambitious plans to launch a sub-brand exclusively for electric vehicles with three new models targeted for China but no plans for the United States. More at Autoweek. 

 At the CAA World Congress of Sports, NASCAR president Steve Phelps announced that the next generation of NASCAR Cup engines in 2024 will employ a hybrid component. More at Jayski.

  1. Mr Phelps needs to take a look at the past instead of the future of NASCAR. NASCAR is no longer STOCK CAR racing! And that is the problem all the hotshots running NASCAR are too blind to see! No longer can the common man buy the same car at the local dealership on Monday that won on Sunday. There is no more NAscAR…
