+   A Michigan judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by General Motors against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (now Stellantis) that accused its rival of fraud in the United Auto Workers scandal. More at Reuters. 

+   According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, there was an 11 percent rise in stolen vehicles in the U.S. last year, with Ford and Chevrolet pickups the most frequent targets. More at Car and Driver. 

 Deliveries of the battery-electric Porsche Taycan totaled 28,640 vehicles worldwide in the first nine months of 2021, eclipsing sales of the automaker’s signature 911 series. More at Autoweek. 

+   Formula 1 has announced a record 23-race calendar for 2022, which will be the longest in the championship’s history and will include two events in the United States. More at ESPN. 

 A 2016 Ferrari LaFerrari hybrid painted a one-of-a-kind wine color called Vinaccia could bring an eight-figure price at the RM Sotheby’s London auction next month, experts say. More at Road & Track. 

+   Nippon Steel is suing Toyota over a patent for a technology used in electric motors in a rare case of legal wrangling between Japan’s top steelmaker and its top automaker. More at The Detroit News. 

 Ford North America product communications manager Mike Levine confirmed that the Bronco Everglades adventure vehicle will be produced, complete with winch and snorkel. More at Autoblog. 

+   The annual Mecum Las Vegas auction at the Las Vegas Convention Center reported more than $22 million in sales and a sell-through rate of 86 percent on 590 vehicles. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.  

+   General Motors’ Cadillac brand will soon get its own financing unit, Cadillac Financial, an arm of GM Financial, as it prepares to sell electric vehicles exclusively. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

  With a victory at Texas this past weekend, Kyle Larson was the first driver to clinch one of the four spots in the NASCAR CUP Championship finale on Nov. 7 at Phoenix Raceway. More at NBC Sports.
