+   General Motors has unveiled a refreshed Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for 2022 with an extensively redesigned cabin and an optional GM Super Cruise driver-assist system. More at GM Authority.

 After suffering $2 billion in losses in the past 10 years, Ford will close its two plants in India and permanently end production there, taking an additional $2 billion loss. More at BBC News. 

 Noteworthy vehicle introductions at the Munich Auto Show include the Volkswagen ID.Life electric concept, the Porsche Mission R, and the BMW i Vision Circular. More at Autoblog. 

 As expected, Williams Formula 1 driver George Russell will replace Valtteri Bottas on the Mercedes team, where he will be partnered with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. More at the UK Guardian. 

 Doug Field, who began his career as an engineer at Ford before leaving to work at Segway, Apple, and Tesla, has rejoined Ford as chief advanced technology officer. More at Car and Driver. 

 A 1987 Camaro Z/28 IROC-Z in original condition with just 2,000 miles showing on the odometer brought $56,000 on Bring a Trailer, the online collector car sales site. More at The Drive. 

 Toyota plans to invest $13.5 billion on vehicle battery technology over the next 10 years, with portions allocated to both all-electric and gasoline-electric hybrid platforms. More at Autoweek. 

+   ZF workers at the Marysville, Michigan axle plant jointly operated by ZF and Stellantis have gone on strike, charging that ZF reneged on a promise to accept union recognition. More at The Detroit News. 

 More than a dozen vehicles specially constructed for the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road are offered at auction now through September 26 by Lloyds Classic Car Auctions. More at Hemmings Daily. 

 NASCAR has fined Joe Gibbs Toyota driver Kyle Busch $50,000 for reckless driving while entering the garage area after crashing out of last week’s Southern 500. More at NBC Sports.

  1. Sacrilege,, the doof wagon has a 48 215 Holden front. Sometimes known as FX. The later FJ used the same sheet metal but with an entirely different grille.
