2012 Syracuse Nationals: day one

Motor City Garage is attending the 2012 Syracuse Nationals, the car guy’s equivalent of drinking from the fire hose. According to the promoters, there are something like 7000 vehicles here.

But that’s not the half of it. Then you have the incredible variety. Check out the slide show below. The many British readers of Motor City Garage might be surprised to see Brian Parker’s Reliant Robin. But here it is in glorious purple (or is that periwinkle?) Or Harry Miller’s beautiful V8-swapped MGA. Or look at the outrageousness perpetrated upon a ’51 Morris Minor woodie wagon by Steve Becker.

Other MCG  favorites included in this gallery

+   Ernie Snyder’s ’23 Ford/Super Modified mashup

+   Daniel Zielinski’s yellow ’32 Ford 5W, an annual favorite for MCG

+   Al and Carol Meagley’s rare ’57 Belair four-door hardtop

+   Harold Beakman’s Model A roadster pickup

Who are we kidding? Truth is we love them all. There’ll be lots more cars from the Syracuse Nationals in the coming days, so stay dialed in to Motor City Garage.

(note: the first photo gallery is below. You can find part two and with photo gallery here and part three here.)

  1. Thanks for the coverage. Very nice picture taken at a fantastic event. First time for my wife and I. Thanks to people like you who took the time to look at the car and post it on your web site, made our 12-hour drive worth while. Thanks again….Dave
