2022 Greenfield Village Motor Muster

Here’s our report on this year’s edition of the Motor Muster at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan, including a big photo gallery.

Greenfield Village, the picturesque historical theme park in Dearborn, Michigan created by Henry Ford himself, hosts two big vintage car events every year: the Old Car Festival on Labor Day weekend for vehicles built before 1933, and the Motor Muster on Father’s Day weekend for vehicles produced between 1933 and 1978. (For more info visit The Henry Ford’s Motor Muster page.) While the Old Car Festival is said to be the oldest-running vintage car show in the USA, the Motor Muster now has some seniority as well. Along with the EyesOn Design show over in Grosse Pointe Shores, it’s a Father’s Day weekend tradition in the Motor City area.

For us, a big part of the Motor Muster’s appeal is the tremendous variety. Here you will find domestic and imported cars and trucks, military equipment, even fire trucks. For example, we spotted a 1934 Ford BB with an original Gar Wood dump body, an exceedingly rare 1966 Oldsmobile Cotner Bevington limousine, even an adorable 1957 Piaggio Ape. 1. Great show, as usual. I wish the organizers of Eyes on Design would have left that show in September like it was last year. Living two hours away, one car show on this weekend is enough, and I’ll always choose Motor Muster. The Oldsmobile Homecoming was also yesterday, and I would have loved to see that one too. It’s a busy time of year!
