+  Ford CEO Jim Hackett announced a senior leadership realignment, with Joe Hinrichs heading automotive operations and Jim Farley in charge of emerging technology. More at The Detroit News. 

+   General Motors has finally released an official photo of the mid-engine 2020 Corvette and has set a date of July 18 for the formal introduction. More at Road & Track.

 France will reportedly vote against the opening of trade negotiations between the European Union and United States due to repeated trade threats from Washington. More at Reuters.  

+   NASCAR has again modified its Monster Cup three-round qualifying procedure for this weekend’s event at Richmond, with the first two rounds cut to five minutes each. More at NBC Sports. 

 The Uber ride-sharing service has finally unveiled its highly anticipated initial purchasing offering (IPO) with an estimated total value of up to $120 billion. More at Autoblog. 

+   Audi debuted the sporty 2020 S6 Sedan and S7 Sportback, each powered by a 450 hp twin-turbo V6 in the USA and by a 349 hp diesel in Europe and elsewhere. More at Motor Trend. 

A gas explosion in downtown Durham, North Carolina claimed one life and caused severe damage to the extensive Porsche collection of Bob Ingram. More at the Charlotte Observer. 

+   The annual Mecum Houston auction generated $20 million in total sales with a 75 percent sell-through rate and 767 vehicles sent to new owners. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+    At the New York Auto Show, Honda will display a crash-tested example of its 2019 HR-V crossover, which received good marks in NHTSA and IIHS testing. More at The Drive. 

 The No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda-Dallara piloted by Jack Harvey will compete at the Long Beach Grand Prix IndyCar event with badging from Honda’s Acura division. More at Racer.
