+   The UAW-Chrysler National Training Center was not a victim of corruption but a willing co-conspirator, U.S. District Judge Paul Borman ruled on Friday. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Swiss startup Innolith claims to have developed a new battery with four times the energy density of current lithium-ion cells, enabling a driving range of 600 miles or more. More at The Drive.

+   Ford announced that an entry-level performance version of the Mustang is in the works for 2020, which observers say is likely to use four-cylinder turbo power. More at Autoblog. 

 The 2020 Karma Revero will debut at Shanghai this month with new styling and a revised drivetrain that employs a three-cylinder BMW turbo engine as range extender. More at Motor Trend.

 Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will pay Tesla hundreds of millions of euros to include Tesla vehicles in its fleet totals to meet European Union emissions regulations. More at Automotive News Europe. 

 An impressive selection of classic automobiles and memorabilia from the collection of the late Fred Guyton will be auctioned without reserve by RM Sotheby’s on May 4-5. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.

 Industry supplier Lear Corporation of Southfield, Michigan has paid $320 to acquire Seattle-based Xevo Inc, a developer of automotive connectivity software. More at Crain’s Detroit Business. 

+   Haas Formula 1 team principal Gunther Steiner welcomed the efforts of series owner Liberty Media to protect the interests of smaller and newer teams including Haas. More at Motorsport.com.
