 As promised, Chevrolet has priced the 2020 mid-engine Corvette under $60,000, with the base set at $59,995 and available options pushing that to $80,000+. More at Road & Track. 

+   Bucking the recent trend against stick-shifts, Honda will offer a traditional six-speed manual transmission in the 2020 Civic Hatchback Sport and Sport Touring models. More at The Drive. 

+   Ford dealer literature reveals that the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will weigh 4,225 lbs, 335 lbs heavier than a ZL1 Camaro but 225 lbs lighter than a Challenger RedEye. More at Autoblog. 

+  Dale Earnhardt Jr, his wife, their infant daughter, and two pilots reportedly escaped serious injury in the fire and crash of a private jet at Elizabethton, Tennessee Municipal Airport. More at CBS News. 

 A former United Auto Workers official has been charged with wire fraud and money laundering as a federal corruption probe expands beyond Fiat Chrysler to General Motors. More at The Detroit News. 

+  Volkswagen Group Canada CEO Daniel Weissland will lead Audi of America beginning September 1, nearly four months after the abrupt resignation of Mark Del Rosso. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Electric truckmaker Rivian will offer electrochromic glass roof panels with adjustable tinting on its R1T pickup and and R1S SUV, but no prices have been announced. More at CNET Roadshow. 

 Steve McQueen’s famous Highland Green ’68 fastback from the movie Bullitt will be offered at the Mecum Kissimmee sale in January, where it is expected to bring a record price. More at Autoweek. 

 The United Parcel Service has acquired a minority stake in autonomous vehicle startup TuSimple, and is testing the company’s self-driving trucks on Arizona roads. More at Reuters. 

+   The Red Bull Formula 1 team will replace French driver Pierre Gasly with Alexander Albon for the rest of the season, with Gasly taking over Albon’s seat at Toro Rosso. More at BBC Sport.
