+   Chinese-owned parts supplier Nexteer Automotive has opened a new $4 million headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan to be closer to its Detroit area customers. More at The Detroit News. 

+   A Texas jury found that a General Motors ignition switch was not to blame for a 2011 accident, handing the automaker its third courtroom win this year. More at the Chicago Tribune. 

+   Amazon has launched a new web hub, Amazon Vehicles, to assist consumers in researching purchases of new cars, parts, and accessories. More at The Verge. 

+   The Verizon IndyCar series has released its 2017 event schedule, which includes a return to Gateway St. Louis and renewals at Watkins Glen and Road America. More at Fox Sports.  

+   With incentives from the Michigan Strategic Fund, automotive supplier Inteva Products in Adrian will add $23.3 million in new equipment, adding up to 127 jobs. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   The Federal Trade Commission has given Tesla Motors the green light to acquire Solar City, a solar energy provider also controlled by Elon Musk, in a $2.6 billion all-stock deal. More at Autoblog. 

+   Volkswagen announced it has reached an agreement in principle to compensate its 650 U.S. dealers for losses due to the diesel emissions cheating scandal. More at CNBC. 

+   A 1970 AMX/3 prototype, one of five produced, became the first American Motors vehicle in recent years to win a major award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   According to a study by consumer website iseecars.com, cars in the exterior colors of yellow and orange hold their value better than more common colors like silver and beige. More at Motor Trend. 

+   McLaren driver Jenson Button says next year’s new-look Formula 1 cars will “scare drivers” again, calling them “a great step forward and where the sport needs to go.” More at Racer.
