+   Chevrolet dealers are currently sitting on around 9,000 unsold Corvettes nationwide, a tough spot for General Motors but a great opportunity for buyers in search of bargains. More at Autoblog. 

 Images of the 2020 Porsche 911 Turbo 992 have apparently leaked on Instagram in advance of the official debut at Geneva or Frankfurt later this year. More at Motor Trend. 

 Shares in Tesla Inc. slipped nearly 3.7 percent after Consumer Reports withdrew its recommendation for the Tesla 3 sedan, citing reliability, paint, and panel fit issues. More at The Drive. 

+   Renault Formula 1 driver Nico Hulkenberg clocked the fastest time of week one in 2019 pre-season testing in Barcelona, closely followed by Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo. More at Motorsport.com. 

 The Trump administration pulled out of talks with the state of California over fuel economy standards for the 2021-2025 model years, setting up a legal battle. More at The Detroit News. 

 A group of Bonneville racers are seeking $50 million from the state and federal governments for a conservancy program to restore the Bonneville Salt Flats. More at Hemmings Daily.

+   Ford Motor Company reported it has hired outside experts to investigate its vehicle fuel economy and emissions testing procedures after employees voiced concerns about accuracy. More at Reuters.

+   Potential tariffs from the U.S. government could cost the Volkswagen Group as much as $2.8 billion in 2019, CEO Herbert Diess told the Financial Times. More at Automotive News Europe. 

 The first annual Mecum Auctions Arizona sale on March 14-17 will feature more than 1,250 lots, led by a one-off Duesenberg J Berline by Rollston. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.

+   The Formula 1 race at the Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas is in jeopardy after the state government declined to provide $20 million in reimbursement for the 2018 race. More at Racer.

  1. No wonder there are 9000 unsold Corvettes, they are ugly! I guess for those with deep enough pockets {or credit} to buy one, it doesn’t matter just as long as they can say they have a new Corvette. Styling has steadily went downhill from the C4 to the C7. Hope the new C8 brings back some Corvette heritage styling, like round tail lights and smooth flowing lines instead of hockey sticks and sharp angles.
