 Officials say the Frankfurt Auto Show will be discontinued in 2021, but three other German cities are in the running to host the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA). More at UK Car. 

+   Automakers in China are bracing for major disruptions in operations and a 15 percent decline in vehicle production due to the coronavirus outbreak. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Senior Honda officials in Japan have reportedly vetoed a deal to sign Formula 1 legend Fernando Alonso to Andretti Autosport in May to race in the Indianapolis 500. More at Racer. 

 PSA Group’s Opel division will build a battery cell factory in Kaiserslautern, Germany, generating 2,000 jobs, Opel Chief Executive Michael Lohscheller announced. More at Reuters. 

 Ford watchers are speculating that the new “baby Bronco” SUV based on the Escape platform and said to be due in showrooms in 2021 will be named the Maverick. More at Autoblog. 

 In a short promotional video teaming up with the Fast and Furious film franchise, Dodge is reportedly teasing a Hellcat-powered version of the Durango SUV. More at The Drive. 

+   In a new survey from U.S. News and World Report presented at the Washington, DC Auto Show, Kia, Toyota, and Honda took home the best overall value honors. More at USA Today. 

 A group led by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll has invested $240 million in Aston Martin, and Stroll will rebrand his Racing Point Formula 1 team after the storied make. More at BBC News.
