+   The U.S. Justice Department has offered to settle its emissions-cheating lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with a recall and a substantial civil penalty. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Sales of the redesigned 2018 Lincoln Navigator luxury SUV introduced in December have far exceeded the Ford Motor Company’s production plans. More at The New York Post.   

+   Analysts see room for further sales growth in Europe as the industry posted stronger than expected sales of 15.63 million vehicles in 2017, a 3.3 percent increase. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says Liberty Media and the FIA should settle on a future direction for Formula 1 and give the teams an ultimatum to accept it. More at Racer.

 Nissan and Infiniti will bring out six new all-electric vehicles in the next five years, four badged as Nissans and two carrying the Infiniti brand, says vice president Toshihiro Hirai,. More at Automobile. 

+   John Buttera, Carl G. Fisher, Jeff Gordon, Howard Hughes, Fred Merkel, Pat Patrick, and Bob Tullius have been elected to the Motorsports Hall of Fame class of 2018. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   Toyota has set a sales goal of 1.4 million vehicles in China in 2018, an increase of nearly 9 percent even as the Chinese market is expected to shrink in volume. More at Reuters. 

+   Cadillac will introduce the XT4 mid-size crossover at the division’s headquarters in Manhattan on March 28, in the lead-up days before the New York Auto Show. More at Motor Trend. 

 Mecum Auctions’ 27th annual Las Vegas vintage motorcycle sale generated total sales of  $13.9 million and a strong sell-through rate of 91 percent. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+   Scott Dixon of Chip Ganassi Racing will test the IndyCar Series’ new driver-protecting ballistic windscreen at Phoenix, with plans to duplicate sun, dusk, and night conditions. More at Motorsport.com.
