 Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will spend $788 million to convert the Fiat 500 to electric power as the carmaker moves on from its failed $35 billion merger attempt with Renault. More at Reuters. 

+   The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) will induct nine new members for 2019, including Tiny Lund, Jacky Ickx, Ivan Stewart, and Ohio George Montgomery. More at Hemmings aily. 

 The very last Volkswagen Beetle to be produced by the automaker rolled off the line at the Puebla, Mexico plant, which will now be retooled to build the Tarek SUV. More at CNBC. 

+   Gooding & Company will offer a selection of classic Pininfarina-bodied Ferraris at its Pebble Beach Auctions during Monterey Car Week in August. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 Ford Motor Company officials knew of serious problems with the six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in the Focus and Fiesta before the cars were introduced. More at The Detroit Free Press.
