+   Motorsports tycoon Ron Dennis has agreed to sell his interest in McLaren for $357.6 million, ending his 37-year involvement with the company. More at Financial Times. 

+   At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Porsche unveiled the 2018 911 GT2 R, which the automaker calls the most powerful production 911 in history with 700 horsepower. More at Wired. 

+   Hyundai will start production of its first N-badge performance model, the i30 N compact hatchback, at its Czech Republic factory in September. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Gasoline prices over the 2017 Fourth of July holiday could be the lowest since 2005, with the current national average at $2.24 per gallon, down five cents from last year. More at USA Today. 

+   General Motors says it will create new sustainable product commitments after missing some goals set five years ago regarding CO2 emissions and electric vehicle production. More at The Detroit News.

+   The British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) has renewed its threat to drop the Formula 1 race at its famed Silverstone circuit over financial disputes with new series owner Liberty Media. More at Racer. 

+   Nissan confirmed via Twitter that its next-generation Leaf Electric, which will reportedly offer greater range and semi-autonomous driving features, will be unveiled on September 6. More at Motor Trend. 

+   An ex-Briggs Cunningham 1958 Lister-Jaguar from the Colin Comer collection will be among the featured vehicles at the Mecum Monterey auction on August 16-19. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   GMC has joined the no-lever trend with the 2018 Terrain SUV that debuts this month with a push-button gear selector instead of a conventional shifter. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   NHRA driver Brittany Force, who currently wheels a Top Fuel dragster for her father’s John Force Racing, will test a Camaro Funny Car for the team. More at Motorsport.com.
