 General Motors has realigned the duties of two top executives, with president Dan Ammann focusing on autonomous vehicles and product chief Mark Reuss overseeing Cadillac. More at The Detroit News. 

+   At the opening of a new Volvo plant in South Carolina, CEO Hakan Samuelsson and Swedish Ambassador Karin Olofsdotter lashed out at President Donald Trump’s tariff policies. More at The Drive. 

+   Audi and partner Airbus have signed a letter of intent with Chancellor Angela Merkel’s German government to test air taxis in and around the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt. More at Bloomberg.com.

+   Ferrari is reportedly set to replace 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, 39, with Formula 2 champion Charles Leclerc in its Formula 1 driver line-up for 2019. More at Motorsport.com. 

 Chevrolet has revived the Blazer name for a mid-sized SUV with a 3.6-liter V6 and unit construction that is scheduled to arrive in the showrooms in early 2019. More at Roadshow by CNET. 

+   To bolster its electric vehicle portfolio, Porsche is taking a 10 percent stake in Rimac, a Croatian technology and electric sports car company founded in 2009. More at Motor Trend. 

 Aston Martin will open a test and development center at Silverstone, the home of British Formula 1 racing, as the automaker continues to expand. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   A Ford GT Mk II that competed at Le Mans could break the auction price record for a Ford GT when it crosses the block at the RM Sotheby’s Monterey sale. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   The McLaren Formula 1 team has reportedly approached four-time champion and Ganassi Racing veteran Scott Dixon to pilot its IndyCar Series entry next year. More at Racer. 

+   Bram Schot has been appointed interim CEO of Audi, replacing Rupert Stadler, who was arrested in the Volkswagen Group’s ongoing diesel emissions scandal. More at Deutsche Welle.
