+   At the New York Auto Show this week, Volkswagen will introduce a mid-size pickup concept based on the Atlas crossover platform that could be built in Tennessee. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Nissan Motor Company announced plans to sell one million electric vehicles (EVs) annually by 2022, a six-fold jump over last year, including eight new EV models. More at Reuters. 

+   W. Wayne Huizenga, the founder of the giant AutoNation car dealership chain, Waste Management, and other successful enterprises, has passed away at age 80. More at CNBC. 

+   ESPN has formally apologized to U.S. viewers for its inaugural Formula 1 broadcast of the 2018 season, which was plagued with poor quality and technical problems. More at Motorsport Week. 

 BMW is the latest automaker to bow out of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, following the withdrawal of Mercedes-Benz a few weeks ago. More at The Detroit News.

+   Spy photographers have captured a Ford road test mule with modified Fiesta bodywork that could be a prototype for an anticipated Mini-Bronco crossover. More at Motor Trend. 

 Waymo CEO John Krafcik says his company’s technology could have prevented a fatal accident involving an Uber autonomous vehicle and a pedestrian in Arizona. More at USA Today. 

+   Top sales at the H&H Classics auction at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, England included a highly original 1966 Aston Martin DB6 and a 1951 Nash Healey. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+   Porsche sources say the hybrid version of the third-generation Cayenne is “inspired by the 918 Spyder super sports car,” but would not confirm the vehicle will be offered in the USA. More at Motor Trend. 

 A freak snowstorm put a stop to all racing at the NASCAR event in Martinsville, Virginia, with the Monster Cup headline event postponed until Monday afternoon. More at Racer.

  1. ESPN had a bad look? As did we in Oz with every second on board breaking up all weekend. I suspect way too many radio signals in too small a place.

    And I believe him. Just about every developer besides Uber has considered the possibility of an obstacle coming out into the road.
