 General Motors Co is studying a $1 billion investment in its Wentzville, Missouri assembly plant where it builds vans and trucks, according to state officials. More at Reuters.

 Chevrolet has performed a quick emergency facelift on the 2020 Camaro after buyers reportedly balked at the blacked-out front fascia of the redesigned 2019 model. More at Autoblog. 

+   Sales of higher-margin SUVs and cost cutting helped Volkswagen Group shrug off a $1.12 billion legal charge and meet first-quarter operating profit forecasts. More at Automotive News Europe. 

 The annual Carlisle Spring Auction at the Carlisle Expo Center in Pennsylvania generated more than $5 million in sales with a 60 percent sell-through rate. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.

+   The oldest surviving 1953 Corvette chassis, which now carries a cutaway display body, has been donated to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+  Sixt Rent A Car will offer Shelby GT-S Mustangs with 600-horsepower supercharged V8s and unique graphics at locations in California, Las Vegas, and Florida. More at Motor Trend. 

 The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has confirmed that 36 entries will compete for the traditional 33 starting spots at the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 this month.  More at Racer.
