+   Auto production in the United Kingdom plunged by 45 percent to 71,000 units in April as the manufacturers struggled to prepare for the nation’s exit from the European Union. More at Bloomberg.com.

+   Ferrari Driver Sebastian Vettel insists the team’s 2019 car is not as off the pace as the results suggest, despite Mercedes winning six consecutive Formula 1 races. More at Racer. 

 RM Sotheby’s collector car auction at Villa Erba on the shores of Italy’s Lake Como generated $22.16 million in sales and a modest sell-through rate of 57.4 percent. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.

 In Maranello, Ferrari unveiled the SF90 Stradale, its most powerful road car to date with a 986-horsepower hybrid gas/electric powertrain and all-wheel drive. More at CNET Roadshow.

 Chevrolet has revived the Trailblazer name, previously used on a truck-based, mid-size SUV, for a new compact ute positioned between the Trax and the Equinox. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Headliners at the Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auctions on August 16-17 will include a 1930 Duesenberg J Berline by Murphy that brought $1.7 million in 2010. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   Analysts at Barclays say that Tesla is “stalling as a niche automaker” and has lowered its 12-month target on the car maker’s share price from $192 to $150. More at CNBC. 

+  Roger Penske has confirmed that driver Simon Pagenaud, who scored Penske’s most recent Indianapolis 500 victory, will have his contract extended through 2020. More at Motorsport.com.
