  Nissan’s board voted to remove Chairman Carlos Ghosn, jailed on charges of underreporting his income, despite pleas from partner Renault to delay the decision. More at Automotive News Europe.

+   McLaren is teasing still and video images of its new 720S Spider, which boasts the same 710-hp twin-turbo V8 as the coupe, in advance of the official debut on December 8. More at Motor Trend. 

+   Polish Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica is set to race for Williams in 2019, completing a remarkable comeback eight years after a rally accident that nearly took his life. More at BBC Sport. 

 Electric vehicle sales are likely to jump over the next two to three years as prices fall and more options are made available, according to Evy Hambro of BlackRock, Inc. More at CNBC. 

+   Ford Motor Co. has filed a patent application for a baking process that eliminates new car smell in vehicle passenger compartments, which Chinese buyers find offensive. More at the Detroit Free Press.

 Around 4,000 General Motors white-collar employees have signed up for buyouts, well short of the 7,000 the automaker had hoped for, raising the prospect of layoffs in January. More at USA Today.

 The second annual Mecum Las Vegas sale at the Las Vegas Convention Center generated $25.2 million in total sales with a 75 percent sell-through rate. More at Classic Cars.com Journal.

  1. No wonder Ford is going down the tubes, crazy testing and eliminating most of it’s lineup to please the foreign markets. Eliminating the new car smells? Totally crazy! I don’t care what the Asians like, we Americans love the smell of a new car!
    They might as well go back to making Model T’s, one style, any color you want as long as it’s black.
