+   For the 2022 SEMA performance trade show, Nissan is presenting a 1987 Sunny pickup powered by an electric powertrain and sporting a throwback Nissan racing paint scheme. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Red Bull Formula 1 driver Max Verstoppen, who already locked up the 2022 world title, set a single-season record of 14 victories with a win in the Mexican Grand Prix. More at the UK Guardian. 

 With the provisional approval of the European Council and European Parliament, the European Union is moving forward with a ban on the sale of internal combustion vehicles in 2035. More at CNBC.

+   Volkswagen and German auto parts supplier Continental separately announced that they are investing a total of $1 billion to build or expand their manufacturing plants in Mexico. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   DeLorean Next Generation Motors, not affiliated with other DeLorean revivals, has unveiled a concept approved by his daughter and called the JZD, the initials of John Z. DeLorean. More at Autoblog. 

 Maserati and Mattel Toys have teamed up to create a $330,000 Grecale Trofeo SUV with hot pink paint that will be featured in the 2022 Neiman Marcus Christmas collection. More at Motor Trend.
