 Vance Pearson, the current director of a United Auto Workers region covering 17 states, has been arrested on multiple counts of embezzlement and wire fraud. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   General Motors is recalling 3.46 million U.S. pickup trucks and SUVs to address a braking assist issue that has been linked to 113 accidents and 13 injuries. More at Reuters. 

+   Eight Brass Era vehicles from the Muckel Collection and 14 American classics from the collection of Jack Dunning will headline the annual RM Auctions Hershey fall sale. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 BMW is finalizing plans for an M-exclusive stand-alone sports car that could be mid-engined or could be a hybrid or full electric, according to BMW M CEO Markus Flasch. More at The Drive. 

+   Seven-time Monster Energy Cup champion Jimmie Johnson says he hasn’t given up on NASCAR, but is keen to try IndyCar and sports cars before retirement. More at Motorsport.com.
