+  Tetsuya Tada, chief engineer of the recent Toyota GR Supra, hints that the automaker’s next sports car will be mid-engined and developed totally in-house. More at The Drive. 

+  General Motors has promoted Cadillac marketing chief and industry veteran Deborah Wahl, 56, to the post of global chief marketing officer for the corporation. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 Ford is launching a “myth-busting” information campaign in advance of the launch of its Mustang-flavored electric crossover and 15 more EVs in the near term. More at The Detroit News. 

 ESPN announced that in the first 13 races of 2019, its second year broadcasting Formula 1 races in the USA, the TV audience has increased by 20 percent. More at Motorsport.com. 

+   Lamborghini previewed the Sian, its first hybrid sports car, which will incorporate the Italian automaker’s classic V12 engine and be limited to a production run of 63 units. More at USA Today. 

 France’s PSA Group and Chinese partner Dongfeng Group are restructuring their joint venture, slashing costs and targeting annual sales of 400,000 vehicles by 2025. More at Automotive News Europe.

+   Both Honda America and Subaru of America set all-time monthly sales records in August, with Honda selling 173,993 vehicles and Subaru moving 70,039 units. More at Autoblog. 

 General Motors will use Google’s new Android Automotive operating system to power the infotainment systems in its cars starting in 2021, the two companies announced. More at The Verge.

 Sales at the RM Auctions annual Autumn Fall Sale slipped to $16.6 million versus $21.7 million for the 2018 event, indicating a softening collector-car market. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+  IndyCar Series regular Graham Rahal will return to IMSA and Acura Team Penske for the Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta next month, the team confirmed. More at NBC Sports.
