PREVIEW: 2023 EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition

The spectacular 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero by Bertone will be among the star attractions at this year’s EyesOn Design show, coming this Sunday.

WHAT: The annual EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition, one of the top classic car events in North America and the only one that is devoted exclusively to exceptional automobile design.

WHERE: The Edsel and Eleanor Ford House; 1100 Lake Shore Rd, Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan 48236

WHEN: Sunday, June 18, 2023, 10 AM to 4 PM

A Father’s Day tradition in the Detroit area for decades, EyesOn Design was founded by Motor City automotive stylists to celebrate the greatest examples in auto design, and all for the benefit of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, which provides research, education, and support for the visually impaired. Medical Director Dr. Phillip C. Hessburg, who’s been with the car show from the start, says the Institute’s ultimate goal is to cure human blindness, a once impossible quest that nanotechnology could soon make a reality, he predicts.

The top line of this year’s show is Design Revolutions, and there will be 22 vehicle catagories in support of the theme with intriguing names that include The Forward Look, Classic Twelves and Sixteens, and Italian Futurism.  At this week’s media preview we got a close look at a stunning example of the latter: the 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero by Bertone (above) which is also featured in the 2023 show’s poster by renowned artist Charles Maher.

Along with all the great cars, EyesOn Design always features a choice selection of classic motorcycles. Speaking to motorcycle committee chairman Aaron Lopas at the preview, we learned that more than 50 vintage bikes are signed up for this year. That gathering should be one for the books. EyesOn Design is a fantastic show for a wonderful cause and we hope to see you there.

  1. Always an amazing show! I’ve been going since the first year and it never fails to be great and a chance to meet some great car owners and chat with industry greats!
