Saturday Morning CarTune: Steve McQueen

This morning’s CarTune is Sheryl Crow’s tribute to the King of Cool, “Steve McQueen.”

Earlier this week, Mac’s Motor City Garage assembled its own tribute to Hollywood’s ultimate car guy with a a big photo feature on McQueen and his many tasty cars and bikes. The perfect followup for this week’s CarTune, we figured, is Sheryl Crow’s Grammy-winning 2002 single, “Steve McQueen.”

The video, directed by Wayne Isham, features the singer-songwriter reenacting a few of McQueen’s best-known screen moments, including the chase scene from Bullit. Look, there’s a Highland Green ’68 Mustang fastback with American mags. And check out the driver of the other car: Dale Earnhardt Jr. If memory serves, that’s Dale’s personal ’69 Camaro.

  1. I didn’t know that was Jackie Bissett! It must have been one of her first movies. Thanks for the dish!
