This beautiful British Pathé newsreel feature on the 1969 British Grand Prix  is short on details, but long on color and vintage Formula 1 flavor. For a blow-by-blow accounting, we refer you to the complete race report from the amazing archives of Motor Sport magazine, but to make a long story short, this race featured a memorable duel between Jochen Rindt of Team Lotus and the Matra-Ford of Jackie Stewart

Rindt started from the pole but Stewart, who was on his way that year to the first of his three world championships, soon chased him down for an epic two-car battle. At around the two-thirds point, Stewart pulled alongside Rindt to warn him of the loose rear wing end-plate cutting his tire. Rindt pitted for repairs and Stewart drove away to victory. Video follows.
