Chevrolet SS NASCAR Sprint Cup cars for 2013 unveiled

At NASCAR’s banquet week in Las Vegas, Chevrolet has debuted the bodywork its cars will wear in the Sprint Cup series next season.

Chevy styled the NASCAR racer after the 2014 Chevrolet SS, a rear-drive V8 performance sedan that shares its platform with the VF Commodore from GM’s Holden division in Australia. The production SS will appear in Chevrolet showrooms in North America in late 2013.

In the slide show below, you will find 2013 Sprint Cup Chevrolets bearing the numbers and paint schemes of Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurray, and Kevin Harvick. Additionally, there’s a Chevrolet show car carrying the generic number 13.

  1. The Chevy and the Ford look good but ironically, the Dodge is the best looking of all. The Toyota looks like they didn’t even bother to try.

  2. I believe Jeff Gordon stepped out of the 13. At least that who it looks like at the autoblog website. I wonder with his issues in Arizona if they didn’t want his car and # in Las Vegas.

Also, 13 has been considered sinister and wicked in ancient Iranian civilization and Zoroastrianism. Seems to fit Jeff as he could have killed someone in his anger.
