 An alleged car thief known as Hellcat Mike and three more suspects were arrested in San Antonio, Texas for running a chop shop operation that specialized in Dodge Hellcats. More at CarScoops. 

 Electric vehicle maker Lucid Motors announced that it will reduce its workforce in the United States by 6 percent, or around 400 employees, in response to slipping demand. More at Reuters. 

 Stellantis announced it has appointed Matt Thompson as senior vice president of U.S. retail sales to replace Jason Stoicevich, who was in the position for only three months. More at The Detroit News. 

+   With a dramatic last-lap pass of Pato O’Ward, Josef Newgarden scored his second consecutive Indy 500 win and gave team owner Roger Penske his 20th victory in the May classic. More at Motorsport.com. 

 General Motors CEO Mary Barra said the automaker is committed to finding a use for the Renaissance Center as GM prepares to move out, but she did not rule out demolition. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   Kia confirmed that it will bring its EV3 compact electric SUV to the USA with a 81.4-kWh battery pack, 350 miles of range, and a price expected to be close to $30,000. More at The Verge.

 BMW, Volkswagen, and Jaguar Land Rover have imported cars into the U.S. with Chinese parts made with forced labor, according to a report by the Senate Finance Committee. More at Autoweek.

 The United Auto Workers are callenging the results of last week’s organizing vote at Mercedes-Benz in Alabama, asking the National Labor Relations Board for a new election. More at CNBC.
